Mrs. Martin

Hello, Cougar Nation! My name is Kelsey Martin and I’m beyond thrilled to be returning to Cordill-Mason as part of the 2022-2023 administrative team.

The first four years of my career were spent in a first-grade classroom at CME. Then in 2018, I was given the opportunity to grow professionally in a new role as the Literacy Coach at Daniel Young Elementary. In this role I’ve been able to support striving readers, work closely with administration regarding academic initiatives, and learn alongside teachers through instructional coaching. These experiences have provided a big-picture perspective of the impact that a group of thoughtful and collaborative educators can have on children.

During my time at Cordill-Mason the staff modeled what an effective, inclusive, and safe learning environment should look like. In addition, the students and families made up an enormous, yet undoubtedly tight-knit, school community. I’m fortunate to have had this example set for me so early in my career - it certainly makes returning home even more exciting.

In my spare time I enjoy going on walks with my husband and adorable Cavapoos, Winslow and Brewer. We’re huge sports fans (M-I-Z), love going to the lake, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family. I’m an avid reader, Target shopper, and have recently embraced my favorite role as Auntie.

Together we are most successful when we’re focused on nurturing core values to better ourselves and our world. I’m eager to be a part of this mission at CME.

"My measurement as a human being, my worth, is the pride I take in performing my job – any job – and the respect with which I treat others.”

Here’s to a great school year!
