Schoology Information:

Schoology is the Learning Management System (LMS) that will be used by the Blue Springs School District.  Learning is about more that just the teachers and students.  Schoology brings everyone together, including students, teachers, coaches, parents and administrators into one common platform with streamlined communication.  Schoology was designed for all students, from our youngest learners to high school seniors.  The Schoology platform will allow teachers to provide class materials, assignments, discussion boards and more into one simple-to-use platform. This will provide a seamless classroom experience for students and teachers who are in-person or virtual.

Here is some information we would like to share with you:

  1. Due to the Covid pandemic, we are trying to keep the number of visitors in the building to a minimum. We ask that you please refrain from dropping off water bottles. We will have disposable cups the students can use to fill at the refilling stations for the day.
  2. Also, we ask that if you are able, please refrain from dropping off forgotten lunches. As of right now, students are provided free lunches until the end of the 2020-2021 school year so please feel free to take advantage of that.
  3. If you need to drop off your student, please pull up to the front doors (by the flagpole) and call the office to let us know you are dropping off your student. Please have the student push the bell on the brick wall by the front door so we can buzz them in. We will sign your student in and get them to class.
  4. If you are needing to pick up your student early, please pull up to the front doors (by the flagpole) and call the office. We will call your student down. We ask that you please come and wait in the glass entryway for your student. Just push the bell on the brick wall by the front door and we will let you into the glass entryway.

Help Us Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

We do have some important reminders for you to keep our students and staff healthy.

  • If anyone in your household is awaiting COVID-19 test results related to symptoms for COVID-19*, all BSSD students/staff must stay home until the results come back.
  • If someone in your household is displaying possible symptoms of COVID-19*, all BSSD students/staff must remain at home until you have proof of a negative test, an alternate diagnosis, or the quarantine period has lapsed.
  • If your student or a staff member is sick*, they must stay at home.
  • If your student or a staff member has knowingly been directly exposed to COVID-19 (less than six feet from a positive case for more than 15 minutes) outside of school, a 14-day quarantine from school is required.

The COVID-19 precautions we have implemented at school are vital in reducing the spread of COVID-19. However, your household plays the most critical role in keeping our students, staff, and schools safe and healthy. If we all commit to following COVID-19 precautions and staying home when necessary, our schools will be healthier, and the number of students and staff members required to quarantine due to direct exposure at school will be reduced. Please help us keep our schools open.

*One high-risk symptom: new cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste/smell or two moderate-risk symptoms: fever over 100.2 degrees, congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, sore throat, headache, muscle/body aches.
