Mrs. Martin
Hello, Cougar Nation! My name is Kelsey Martin and I’m beyond excited for another great school year as your Assistant Principal at Cordill-Mason!
The first four years of my career were spent as a first-grade teacher at CME. Then in 2018, I was given the opportunity to grow professionally in a new role as the Literacy Coach at Daniel Young Elementary. In that role, I was able to support striving readers, work closely with administration regarding academic initiatives, and learn alongside teachers through instructional coaching. Four years later, I was elated to start my next journey as an administrator back where I began.
During my time teaching at Cordill-Mason, the staff modeled what an effective, inclusive, and safe learning environment should look like. In addition, the students and families made up an enormous, yet undoubtedly tight-knit, school community. After returning home to CME two years ago, I can confidently say that our culture continues to be something truly special.
In my spare time I enjoy going on walks with my husband and adorable Cavapoos, Winslow and Brewer. We’re huge sports fans (M-I-Z), love going to the lake, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family. I’m an avid reader, Target shopper, and continue to love playing the role of our nieces' favorite Aunt and Uncle.
Together we are most successful when we’re focused on nurturing core values to better ourselves and our world. I’m thrilled to be a part of this mission at CME.
Here’s to a great school year!
Kelsey Martin, Administrative Intern
